Age: In the 100,000s probably. His body is 1,000 years old at least. Looks about 16.

Personality:
Amaimon is hyper focused. If he doesn't have something to take interest in, he complains about being bored insistently until it's over. This happens a lot, and usually results in him throwing a tantrum, wanting to murder someone (literally,) or destroying things of his older brother's until he gets something better to do. This can mostly be seen in the omakes and his brief cameo appearances in episodes. He stomps around town and even ends up chewing on and eating one of Mephisto's pink Play Station controllers. He's destructive by nature. He chews his nails and his candies and candy wrappers and his golem familiar Behemoth's horns and body. As a side character, this really hasn't been that expanded on but from how he whines and demands attention these are definitely signs of stress when he's not getting what he wants. He dislikes being away from his older brother's side, asking him to come home to Gehenna over and over again. He also is incredibly docile when Mephisto lets him out of his cuckoo clock to see Rin again, implying he'd been in there, alone, for that long amount of time. As soon as he's allowed to fight Rin, he does it with all he's got. It's obvious that his need for attention is much like a child's: he whines and fights until he gets attention and eventually, if ignored long enough, he starts to shut down.
Background:
Amaimon is the son of Satan. He's the eighth child, and the seventh strongest demon in Gehenna (or hell.) We don't know how old he is, but it's at least 1,000 years. Probably more than that, considering Christian mythology. In Ao no Exorcist, we see him as a young teenager for the first time, speaking to Mephisto about Rin and whining about his older brother and father caring so much about him. His first real appearance and role is when he confronts Rin in the amusement park and they fight. He steals Rin's sword, but eventually gets chased off by Shura. Again, we see him whining to Mephisto up in his private room while eating sweets (constantly) and gross fried foods like chips and takoyaki. When the Exwires go camping for a mission, Amaimon decided to infiltrate them by possessing Shiemi with Chuchi eggs. The parasites infect her and he's able to control her, leading Rin to leave the protective circle and go after them.
He controls Shiemi into agreeing to marry him. When the others go after them, Konekomaru accidentally sets off his flare and burns the tip of Amaimon's hair. Shima laughs at him and he slams him into a tree, breaks Konekomaru's arm, and nearly strangles Bon. All of this eggs Rin into using his demonic powers in front of his friends and he and Amaimon fight. Mephisto stops them eventually, and when he tries Amaimon punches him in the stomach. Angry at his little brother, he punishes him by banishing him into his Kuchen Cuckoo Clock. In the anime, Amaimon ends up transforming into a larger demon form and attacking the council. His human vessel is put down and he's eventually seen again throughout the rest of the anime as a green hamster. This doesn't happen in the manga. Much later on, instead, we see him with Mephisto again ready to fight with Rin as usual. He wins their fight this time and Mephisto sends Rin back to school.
